those Blights, everybody switches to their backup Wand, anyways, which solves it. ![]() Flame/Rain Blight.ĭoubly-bad means those 2 Blights are doubly-immune to both Pierce and that element.īut vs. I like to enchant Pierce with either Burn or Freeze, to be doubly-bad vs. + maybe enchant 1 Fine weapon (don't wait for an Exceptional, have fun while waiting) +25% Burn is +25%, on every shot, forever. Pick any of the secondary damage types, they're equally good. + Scion of Flame or Secrets of Rime (or 1 of the other 2, for melee) You'd rather just hit them 6 times, than hit them 5 times + 25 damage from DR Bypass. The Slow or Very Slow weapons already beat high DR. ![]() This is less important with a high-Damage Arbalest (or Great Sword, etc.) ![]() You'd rather have 5 * (hit + 5 damage) than 6 * (MIN).įor the same reason, every dual-melee and 1H melee wants Vulnerable Attack. +5 DR Bypass can more than double your damage, compared to your (MIN). For that reason, I avoid it.Ī must-have for any Fast weapon with low Damage in the teens, like Bow or Wand.įoes will have 15-21 Pierce DR, and you'll do (MIN) mercy damage of 2, 3, 3, 5. It's half as good as a "+20% Damage" talent. This talent, under typical conditions, is actually worth about +10% DPS. In decent -40% armor (Breastplate), Arbalest has a default cadence of 335 frames. (also linked from the wiki under "Attack Speed")Īrbalest has Reload time of 180 frames (= 6.0 seconds). Gunner: +20% Reload Speed is not +20% DPS. ~ Marksman: "distant enemies" means 4.0m+.įrom L9 Dragon Thrashed on, Chanter also wants to dart close-in for AoE coverage. + Weapon Focus: (your ranged of choice) - Soldier for ArbalestĮvery character benefits from +6 Accuracy. Kana is fine with two Fine Arbalest with his +1 Weapon Sets. He's fine with a Fast bow, a wand, or a massive Arbalest for huge damage spikes. Non-melee Chanter will shoot with ranged. You may narrow down a choice to 2 talents, and fear buyer's remorse either way.īoldly seize one, and don't look back. + Don't agonize over every little choice. If it doth sucketh, retrain it and test another one. You can "test" a talent for a few levels. I would recommend against focusing on tanking or healing since other classes simply do them better.ĭeep topic! In the end, you shall have to decide for yourself. Brisk Recitation is just good overall for any chanter since it lets you accumulate phrases faster. I don't like giving either of these to Kana but if I made a chanter main and went with long range, I'd probably take one of them.įor class talents, Ancient Memory is decent if they're up near the melee fighters. ![]() They work well with a more summon-focused chanter. There are two soulbound weapons for chanters, Stormcaller and Molina's, that are both longer range. This will keep them close enough to support your front line without being in too much danger. You can equip them with a staff or pike for a "second row" type of fighter, or give them a short-ranged weapon like a blunderbuss to be a few steps back. For this reason, I like to have them in the middle of the group or in the back. Usually they will be supporting the party and/or summoning. Chanter is a really flexible class so this depends a lot on what you want to do with it.
